The 10 Coolest AirBnBs In The US

Travelling is always a fun adventure. You get to see new places and sites as well as soak in the culture. What makes your traveling even better is the fact that you now have so many more options on where to stay! A little over ten years ago, AirBnB went public, offering more options for guests to stay instead of the run of the mill hotel.

With the popularity of AirBnB, more people have put their homes on the website all across the US. Because individuals can do this, you get some interesting and unique dwelling spaces. Homes range from nostalgic and cozy cottages to beautiful best treehouses in the forest.

With all the information out there, I have compiled a list of some of the best and unique places to stay. Here are the ten coolest AirBnBs you can find across the US.

Which State Had the First AirBnBs?

The first AirBnB was just a bed in an apartment rented out for eighty dollars. The co-founders, Joe Gebbia and Brian Chesky, lived in San Francisco, California, where they blew up an air mattress and rented it out for people to sleep on. (There are plenty of ways to tour San Francisco, and the first Airbnb helped people do just that!)

This idea began to help homeowners and renters make their monthly payments. It started with an air mattress being rented out for traveling artists and tourists. This air mattress is the origin of the company’s name.

After several bookings, the founders realized this could be a great business for other homeowners and renters, but they had a long way to go.

They were not successful in launching their business at first. Investors either rejected their idea or ignored them completely. They even marketed their bed and breakfast idea on cereal boxes, which raked in some income.

In 2009, they even met all their hosts in New York, staying with them and helping them market their vacation rentals a little better.

After many struggles with laws and regulations in different states, unruly guests, and snagging investors, AirBnB has become quite the global concept. It has even begun to expand into luxury retreats.

Final Thoughts

There are so many unique and cool places on AirBnB that did not make this list. Many of these listings have been on several wishlists and top destination articles.

With individuals able to offer their homes and living spaces for rent, you can find all sorts of personalities and styles. From grand mansions to cozy cottages, you can find yourself trying out so many new things that you couldn’t find at a hotel.
